About Us

Nashville Cat Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing cats and kittens from high-kill shelters and off the streets, placing them in loving, permanent homes. All cats and kittens who come through our program receive superb veterinary care before they are adopted out to the public. Each Nashville Cat Rescue cat or kitten is, at minimum, tested for FIV/FeLV, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, given flea preventative, and brought up-to-date on vaccinations appropriate for their age.

NCR does not have a facility. We operate instead through a network of foster homes. Our adoptable cats and kittens are showcased at PetSmart locations in 100 Oaks, Cool Springs, and Hermitage as well as Pet Supermarket locations in Bellevue, Cool Springs, and Donelson. We also provide the cats and kittens who are available for adoption at the Mewsic Kitty Cafe, Nashville's first and only cat cafe. Our adoptable cats and kittens can also be adopted through our Petfinder page.

In August, 2014, NCR launched a Mobile Adoption Center and Transport Unit. This vehicle is used to transport cats and kittens to adoption events, provide medical care and shelter for NCR cats, and travel to humane treatment education programs at local schools. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook to see when and where the "catmobile" will be next!

If you are interested in being a foster parent for a homeless cat or kitten, please download and fill out our foster application. NCR will provide foster homes with food, litter, and veterinary care for all NCR cats. All you need to provide is the love and attention our cats and kittens deserve. We have placed more than 9,600 cats who were formerly abandoned/neglected or facing euthanasia since our inception in October of 2005 through 2018.
